Caring for suede and nappa
Unlined suede and soft nappa reward a little routine. Here is the one the atelier keeps.
Rotation
Rest a pair for a full day between wears so the leather can dry and recover its shape. Cedar trees, inserted while the shoe is still warm, do most of the work.
Suede
Brush along the nap with a crepe or brass brush after each wear. Treat marks when they are dry, never wet. A light protector spray twice a season is enough.
Nappa and the sole
Wipe nappa with a barely damp cloth and condition sparingly every few months. The leather sole can be topped with a thin rubber guard by any good cobbler if you walk on stone daily.
